How do you place students in their classes?
Before a student start classes, we apply a written and oral test to determine his/her level. The written test is to find out the knowledge of formal grammar. The oral test is to find out the level of Conversational and Academic Language Proficiency.The Fenix Language Institute Methodology is an eclectic one. We combine methods of the Second Language Learning Concept and the Second Language Acquisition Theory.

Is there any problem with the time period that I have selected?
Registration begins every Monday of the year. Although the minimum length of study is one week, we strongly recommend one month of study. Our complete intensive study program is offered for 12-16 weeks and includes the most basic to advanced levels of Spanish.

What day of the week would be the best to arrive in Zacatecas in order to begin classes on your schedule?
In order to start classes Monday, we recommend to you to arrive during the week before. Saturday would be a good day to take the test to determine your level.

Should we bring traveler's checks to pay you for the school ? Do we pay you for the family also?
Express traveler's checks are accepted by the school. We do not accept credit cards at the school. For personal expenses you can bring traveler's checks or you can use an ATM. Students pay to the school for the family also.

Will I need to make hotel arrangements for Sunday night or will I be staying with my host family?
You can go directly to your Mexican host family. You don't have to pay for one night hotel.
I was also wondering who my host family is? You will receive the Mexican host family information 7 days before you arrive in Zacatecas or Chalchihuites program.

I have been attempting to download the registration form to the Institute, but have not been able. Is there anyway you can download it for me and email it to me? Or is there another way to register? I do not have access to a fax machine. I am a vegetarian who cannot eat fried foods. Will it be possible to find a host home that can provide fresh fruits and vegetables? We will give you a family who provide you vegetarian food.

Is bottled water available in the Zacatecas program and in the Chalchihuites rural program? Yes, bottled water is available.
