Our technology allows us to record each class that takes place at the virtual classroom. This allows us the opportunity to evaluate the development of our students and also provides us with a tool for monitoring the quality of each student's experience with the assigned instructor. In turn, this facilitates a more optimal level of progress for your learning experience in the use of Spanish.
Do I need to be an expert in computing?(Back to FAQs)
No, you only need basic knowledge. For example, knowing how to check your e-mail, open files, save files, etc. If it's necessary, your assigned instructor will help you so that everything is easier for you.
I already have an email account, is it necessary to open a new account with Fenix to take online courses?(Back to FAQs)
No. You can use whatever email you already have, and we will email directions for how to access the online Fenix program. You only need to click on the links we will email to you.
Do I need to install a special type of software on my computer for the Virtual Classroom?(Back to FAQs)
No, you do not need to install anything. We will provide you with the necessary information so that you don't waste time and only focus on learning how to acquire Spanish. The Virtual Classroom runs in any browser so no software downloads required and it works across platforms.
What do I have to do before each of my sessions in the Virtual Classroom?(Back to FAQs)
Each lesson is matched according to your level and will be provided for you by an email link. At the time of your virtual classroom session, your assigned instructor will help you fulfill the lesson objectives for that session.
What would happen if after scheduling my class at the Virtual Classroom, an unforeseen change in circumstances prevents my participation? (Back to FAQs)
This will not be a problem if you contact your assigned professor 48 hours in advance of the scheduled day of your session. A necessary accommodation can be made by moving a scheduled date, one time only, for that particular virtual session. Contact us

How many sessions should I receive at the Virtual Classroom?(Back to FAQs)
Each session takes 55 minutes. First of all, we recommend to take the placement test in our Virtual Classroom in order to know your natural ability to develop the knowledge of a new language (in this case Spanish), and to determine your current Spanish level. Take your test now!

What types of materials will be provided?(Back to FAQs)
Our materials are contextual and focused on the acquisition of a second language. You will be able to learn and acquire the Spanish language with materials that provide real life situations. According to your level you will be able to access materials such as audio MP3's and in some cases audio books and handouts to read.
Do I have to do homework?(Back to FAQs)
You will be required to finish some written exercises in our Virtual Classroom and should then send them to your assigned instructor for evaluation. Also, you will need to complete specific written lessons that you should find to be very helpful in your learning of Spanish. These lessons are both written and audio based.
Do I have to learn a lot of grammar?(Back to FAQs)
Formal grammar is an important tool to understand the structure of the language, but it alone is not going to make us speak the language. You will have access to many different grammatical concepts in each lesson. Should you have any questions you will be able to ask your instructor for help at any moment.
How can I get in contact with my Fenix instructor if I have problems or questions?(Back to FAQs)
You can email your instructor at any time with questions, problems, or clarifications. Your instructor will reply to your email promptly. If the question is better addressed face to face, your instructor can initiate a meeting in the Virtual Classroom to discuss your questions.
What methodology does the program use? (Back to FAQs)
Even though the DLCCI (Developing Language through Contextal Comprehensible Input) Fenix methodology is an eclectic one, it is essentially based in the Second Language Acquisition Theory (Stephen Krashen ) concept. And it was designed by Fenix Language Institute because each student has different needs that we must address in the correct way to ensure that his or her language acquisition will be faster and more effective.
We cannot speak that which we do not understand. For this reason, we begin to construct language step-by-step, much in the same way that a house is built. We require a landscape, the design for the house of our dreams, construction materials, the foundation, walls, a roof, and everything else that is necessary to create a house that reflects exactly what we imagined.

Your instructor speaks enough English to guide you step-by-step in the process of teaching you how to acquire Spanish. However, in agreement with our method, you will have to speak Spanish starting from the first lesson. That is our mission.

We prefer to conduct transactions via PayPal. We will send your bill via email, with a link and instructions to complete the payment.
